Egg, Meat production increased in Tripura in past 4 years

Agartala, Aug 12: Minister for Animal Resources Development department Bhagaban Das on Friday said the government is working with a priority to make Tripura swanirbhar in egg, milk and meat production.
Addressing a press conference at the civil secretariat, Das claimed that as a result of the government’s sincere efforts, the production of egg, milk and meat had increased in the state over the past four years.
Sharing details, he said, the per capita milk production in 2017-18 was 123 grams. The production increased to 147.28 grams in 2021-22.
In case of egg, the per capita production had increased from 67 in 2017-18 to 79 in 2021-22 and the per capita meat production had increased from 11.46 kg in 2017 to 13.40 kg in 2021-22, according to the minister.
Speaking to the media, Das also said that the state government had already taken several initiatives to increase the production of egg and meat with an aim to meet the demand from the state’s production.
Secretary of Animal Resources Development department T.K. Debnath and Director D.K. Chakma were also present in the press conference.
