Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Saturday urged the voters to be cautious of their future as their electoral choices of today shall determine their future tomorrow. He said that creation of opportunities for the youngsters and access to basic infrastructure to all are his main motto.
Addressing a rally in the Dasda-Kanchanpur, He said, “Voters should prioritise long-term community interests. The electoral choices you are making today would determine the future of the younger generation.”
He appealed to the electorate to look beyond short-term inducements and focus on sustainable development.
Highlighting key issues in northern Tripura, Debbarma pointed to the lack of safe drinking water, poor road connectivity and inadequate educational infrastructure as major challenges.
He said a TMP-led council would work to ensure access to potable water through improved supply systems, upgrade school facilities in tribal areas and strengthen road networks to improve connectivity and access to healthcare.
Debbarma also said efforts would be made to facilitate the flow of development funds into the Kanchanpur subdivision to address gaps in basic services and expedite pending projects. He noted that the region had lagged behind in development and required targeted intervention.
Emphasising unity among indigenous communities, he said collective support was essential to secure political and developmental gains. Referring to the upcoming polls, Debbarma called on voters to assess leadership choices, in an apparent comparison with Chief Minister Manik Saha.
Reiterating his party’s stand, he said the TMP would contest the TTAADC elections independently, maintaining its regional agenda without entering into alliances.
