Final electoral rolls for VC polls to be published on June 15

The final electoral roll for the Village Committee elections under Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council is slated to be published on June 15 next. The draft list shall be published on June 02, secretary Tripura State Election Commission Anurag Sen told reporters.

“It should be noted here that shortly after the general elections to the TTAADC, the state election commission started preparing for the Village Committee elections. At the early stage, we have issued notification for finalisation of polling stations and now a notification related to the electoral roll has been issued,” said Sen. 

According to Sen, the draft list will be published on June 02 and till June 09 claims related to it can be submitted. “The final voter list shall be published on June 15. The elections will be held for more than 2,600 seats spread across 587 village committees. The total number of polling stations in different blocks stand at 1,550,” said Sen.
