Agartala May 19:  44^th Foundation Day of Tripura Khet Majdoor Union was observed with due dignity in the state.

The prime program was held in front of West District CPI-M Party office in the capital city with hoisting of the party flag by Shyamal Dey, state secretary, Tripura Khet Majdoor Union.

Speaking on the occasion, Shyamal Dey said that the foundation day of Tripura Khet Majdoor Union is celebrated every year to give a message to the people of all sections starting from workers, farmers and daily wagers to organize themselves politically against the anti-people policies of the state and central government.

“Development of the state has come to a standstill since the establishment of the BJP led coalition government in Tripura. The most affected are the working class people, the farmers and daily labourers. The Tripura Khet Majdoor Union has been working for the overall betterment of the people”, he said.

According to the members, Tripura Khet Majdoor Union was formed after the first state conference in Udaipur on May 19 and 20 in the year 1980.

The organization is primarily aimed at mobilizing the rural peasantry from a political point of view.
