Foundation stone laid for modern school building at Sekerkote HS School under PM Shri Scheme

A moment of pride for Sekerkote and its residents unfolded on Saturday as the foundation stone was laid for a modern three-storied building at Sekerkote Higher Secondary School, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 8.5 crore under the PM SHRI project. The ceremony was graced by Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, who joined teachers, students, and local residents in the auspicious bhumi pujan ritual.

Speaking at the event, Bhattacharjee said the initiative would not only enhance the school’s infrastructure but also enrich the overall learning environment. He emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guiding framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the school is set to embark on a new path of educational excellence.

“The government’s priority and commitment towards improving the quality of education is clearly reflected in today’s initiative,” Bhattacharjee remarked, adding that the new building would stand as a proud addition for both the people of Sekerkote and the student community.

The occasion also coincided with the 78th Foundation Day of Sekerkote HS School, where Bhattacharjee extended greetings and warm wishes to teachers, students, and all present. The dual celebration marked a significant milestone, symbolizing both the school’s rich legacy and its promising future.

Local residents expressed optimism that the new facility will provide better opportunities for learning and growth, reinforcing Sekerkote’s place as a hub of educational advancement in Tripura.
