What began as a modest dream in 2019 has today blossomed into a thriving enterprise, turning Junu Bala Roy of Joy Ram Self‑Help Group under Natun Alo CLF into a celebrated Lakhpati Didi.

Her journey from small‑scale vermicompost production to a diversified livelihood enterprise stands as a powerful example of how determination, training, and collective support can transform rural lives.

Junu Bala Roy started her venture with limited resources, producing vermicompost on a small scale. With access to Community‑Based Organization loans and specialized training from RUDSETI through TRLM, she steadily expanded her operations, proving that skill development and financial inclusion are key drivers of rural entrepreneurship.

Today, Junu manages 30 vermicompost pits, supplying organic fertilizer to farmers while simultaneously diversifying into seed trading, vegetable cultivation, and fishery. During peak seasons, her monthly sales exceed Rs 5 lakh, generating profits of around Rs 2.5–3 lakh.

Her enterprise has also created jobs for six SHG members, turning her personal journey into a collective opportunity. By involving others, Junu has demonstrated how women entrepreneurs can multiply the impact of their success, fostering community growth alongside individual achievement.

With plans to expand her vermicompost unit further, Junu remains committed to scaling her enterprise. Her story underscores the transformative potential of SHG‑led entrepreneurship, where women not only achieve financial independence but also empower others in their community.
