Agartala, Apr 02: The delegates from around the world arrived in Tripura on Sunday to attend a meeting of G20.
The two-day Science-20 thematic conference on ‘Clean Energy for Greener Future’ will commence at Hapania international indoor exhibition hall on Monday.
As they arrived at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, Agartala, the delegates were offered a rousing welcome with traditional Risa and cultural performances.
Some of the delegates were seen clicking selfies at the airport; they were visibly found happy over the wonderful view of the new terminal.
The Agartala city has been put under a strong security cover due to movement of the global delegates. Besides, the important locations of the city have been decorated with colourful lights and banners to welcome them.
The G20 delegates visited Albert Ekka War Memorial at Lichubagan where they were briefed by Chief Executive Officer of Agartala Smart City Limited Shailesh Kumar Yadav. They next visited Kumaritilla lake where the first screening of the musical fountain was held.
The delegates along with the officials attended a dinner party at Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Minister for Industries and Commerce Santana Chakma and others were present.
Earlier in the evening, a delegation of Government of India officials, who arrived in the state to attend the #G20 Science event, called on the Chief Minister at my official residence. They had interactions on various aspects of the summit.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister in a social media post commented, “The #G20 Summit is an opportunity for Tripura, a unique blend of rich culture, tradition & nature, to showcase its potential sectors including Tourism before the world. The event will serve as a crucial platform to address key issues on the theme 'Clean Energy for a Greener Future'.”
The delegates will visit Purbasha, Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary and Neermahal followed by a Yoga session to be held at Oxygen Park on Tuesday. They will leave the state on Wednesday.
