Ganja worth Rs. 3 crore seized in Tripura, three held

Agartala, Nov 02: Tripura police on Wednesday recovered 3290 kg ganja worth around Rs. 3 crore from two vehicles in front of Teliamura police station and arrested two drivers and one co-driver of the vehicles in this connection.
Acting on a specific input, Teliamura police led by SDPO Parsune Kanti Tripura, Officer-in-charge Teliamura police station Subrata Chakraborty along with other officers and staff detained the vehicle in front of the police station and conducted a search.
During the search police recovered 1190 kg ganja contained in 119 packets from the vehicle.
Police arrested the driver- Sher Singh, a resident of Ludhiana in Punjab and seized the vehicle. The police have registered a case under NDPS Act in this connection.
Later, in the night, during vehicle checking, the police recovered 2100 kg ganja from an oil tanker bearing registration No. WB-39D-7-281. Teliamura police arrested the driver and co-driver of the vehicle in this connection.
