Gaurav Dwivedi is new Prasar Bharati CEO

New Delhi, Nov14: The President Monday appointed Gaurav Dwivedi as Executive Member (Chief Executive Officer) of public broadcaster Prasar Bharati.
The appointment was made after due recommendation by the Selection Committee, an official release said here.
Dwivedi, a 1995-batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, has been appointed for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge.
At present, he is the Chief Executive Officer of MyGov, a citizen engagement platform of the government, under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
“The terms and conditions of his appointment shall be governed by the provisions of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990, and the rules made there under as amended from time to time,” the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in its order.
Previously, Dwivedi has worked in various capacities in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Shashi Shekhar Vempati was the last full-time CEO of Prasar Bharati from 2017 to 2022. But, after he completed his five-year tenure, Director General of Doordarshan Mayank Agrawal was given the additional charge of CEO Prasar Bharati in June this year.
