Govt. is working to eradicate water crisis, says Mayor

Agartala June 01: Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder on Thursday said that the state government, Jal Board and other concerned departments are working hard to meet up to the demands of common people in terms of availability of pure drinking water.
The Mayor made the above statement as he laid the foundation stone for setting up of an Iron Removal Plant (IRP) at Ward no. 13 in Biterban area.
Speaking to the reporters, Majumder said, “A total of 26 Iron Removal Plants (IRPs) will be set up under the Atal Jaldhara Amrit II project of the government of India. And for that a total of Rs 182 crore will be spent”.
“The drinking water woes that people are facing in several areas across the state and capital city will be solved at the earliest”, he added.
AMC North Zonal Chairman Pradip Chanda, local corporator Hiralal Debnath among others remained present at the foundation stone laying ceremony.
About 300 families will be benefited through the plant in the area.
