Agartala/ Charilam, Apr 16: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday warned that stern action would be taken if anyone indulges in any evil attempt to tarnish the image of the government.
He said, a section was active to create unrest since the election results were declared on March 2 last. The common people do not like such activities; we have to come out of this unwanted culture introduced by the communists. The state government gave warnings multiple times but now the government would take action, Dr. Saha said at a programme in Sepahijala district.
The present state government wants to work in such a way which the people would remember for life long, the Chief Minister said, adding that, works in the same status would be maintained everywhere be it politically, culturally or otherwise.
The Chief Minister was speaking at colourful Barsho Baran programme jointly organized by Bishalgarh Municipal Council and ICA department.
Referring to the poor maintenance of the new Bishalgarh town hall where the programme was held, the Chief Minister also said the government employees need to perform their duties accordingly and the work culture has to be developed. He also said that initiative would be taken to widen the main road in Bishalgarh.
The programme initiated by local MLA Sushanta Deb drew a huge response from the people.
The Chief Minister also applauded the initiative. He said, such programmes strengthen social harmony and culture.
In his address, the Chief Minister sought cooperation from all sections of people to build a drugs-free Tripura.
BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Dutta and other dignitaries were present in the programme.
