Govt to set up Bamboo Industry Project in K’shahar

Kailashahar, April 16: A project to set up a bamboo-based industry is going to start on 65 acres of land of Sonamukhi tea garden in Kailashahar.
“A full-scale agarbatti industry will be set up in which manufacturing to marketing – everything will be taken care of through a proper chain and the project will commence soon,” said the Youth and Sports minister of the state, Tinku Roy while interacting with the media after attending an important meeting about the project at the circuit house in Kailashahar on Sunday afternoon.
He also said the project would cost around Rs 109 crore and initially 1500 employment will be created.
The primary aim of the project is to utilize the bamboo potentials of the state and also to create employment opportunities for the youths through this project.
The youth and sports minister today went for a site visit at Kailashahar Sonamukhi tea garden spread over 250 acres which was declared as khaas land by the state government a few years ago as the garden was left abandoned. The land was later handed over to the industrial department.
“Out of 250 acres, 65 acres of the garden will be used for the project,” said Roy.
The minister assured that the project work will begin immediately and the youths will get immense opportunities to boost their carrier through it.
