Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has announced that the establishment of a modern, international-standard cricket academy in the state is progressing rapidly, with a suitable site already identified for the ambitious project.

He also informed that the state government is taking necessary steps to ensure the timely completion of the international cricket stadium under construction at Narsingarh, while placing special emphasis on accelerating the pace of project implementation.

The Chief Minister made these remarks on Tuesday while attending a distribution programme of 108 cricket kit bags at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.Â

The event was organised by the Tripura Cricket Association with support from the State Bank of India.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha highlighted the state government's various plans and initiatives aimed at promoting cricket, including providing advanced training opportunities for emerging cricketers and developing modern sports infrastructure across the state.

He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring better facilities and opportunities for players, promoting a strong sporting culture, and establishing Tripura more prominently on the national sports map.

“The government remains committed to nurturing the talent of the youth and creating an environment where young sportspersons can excel,” the Chief Minister said.
