Guardian Minister Bikash Debbarma reviews development in Sepahijala: Focus on education, healthcare & public services

Sepahijala district came under close administrative scrutiny on Monday as Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, acting in his capacity as Guardian Minister, chaired a District-Level Review Meeting to assess the progress of government programmes and development initiatives.

The meeting brought together officials and stakeholders to evaluate the status of projects across critical sectors. 

Following the discussions, Minister Debbarma told reporters that the review focused on education, healthcare, drinking water supply, road connectivity and other essential services, with emphasis placed on effective implementation, timely execution and strengthening public service delivery.

“Our continued focus is on ensuring that government initiatives translate into tangible development and meaningful benefits for the people,” Debbarma said, underlining the government’s commitment to bridging gaps in service delivery and ensuring accountability at the district level.

Notably, the role of a Guardian Minister involves overseeing development activities in the assigned district, ensuring coordination among departments, and monitoring the execution of government programmes. 

By chairing such review meetings, the minister is expected to identify bottlenecks, push for faster implementation, and ensure that welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.

District Magistrate Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, IAS, MLA Antara Deb Sarkar along with other officials remained present at the day's meeting.
