Santirbazar Mar 13: State Government’s bid to decentralize the healthcare delivery system is paying dividends as rural people of Santirbazar and adjoining areas are enjoying better services as well as benefits of improved infrastructural facilities for treatment and surgeries in the District Hospital at Santibazar.
Above all, a dedicated team of medicos backed by equally energetic health staff are working tirelessly to ensure better health of newborn babies, children, expectant mothers and others.
After conducting a life-saving blood exchange transfusion on a 7-day-old newborn baby, the doctors of Santirbazar District Hospital, once again, succeeded in removing a gall bladder stone through critical surgery.
The MS of the Hospital Dr JS Reang said, a team of doctors comprising Dr Tamal Sarkar, Dr Sourav Lodh and Dr Ajoy Pal conducted, for the first time ever in the Hospital, a critical surgery on one Housewife to remove gall bladder stones from her stomach last week (on March 9 last). The patient hailed from Baikhora under the Santirbazar sub-division.
Speaking to the media, Dr Tamal Sarkar said there was a lack of adequate instruments for conducting surgeries – so a request for arrangements of certain instruments was placed before the MS who promptly took steps and arranged the instruments paving way for a smooth surgery procedure.
