Heat wave: Tripura Govt declares closure of schools from Apr 18 to 23

Agartala, Apr 17: In view of the excessive heat wave, the state government announced that all government-run and government-aided schools would remain closed with effect from April 18 to 23.
The update came from Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday.
Dr. Saha in a social media post mentioned that the decision was taken as intense heat wave could impact the students’ health.
He also mentioned that the authorities of all the private-run schools were requested to keep their institutions closed during that period—from April 18 to 23.
Meanwhile, there was a strong demand from the people across the state for closure of the schools.
The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) on Monday announced that the Madhyamik, Higher Secondary and Madrassa examinations scheduled to be held on April 18 and 19 will continue.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, the TBSE chairman Dr. Bhabatosh Saha informed that the scheduled examinations for Madhyamik and Higher Secondary will continue as per the schedule on April 18 and April 19 amid the week-long shutdown of schools announced by the government due to the prevailing heatwave conditions.
He said that the Madhyamik examination for vocational subjects will be held on April 18 as per the schedule in a total 108 schools across the state, whereas the Higher Secondary examinations scheduled on April 19 next will continue as per the schedule in a total 23 schools across the state.
As per the schedule of the TBSE, the Class 10 Madhyamik and Madrasa Alim examinations had begun from March 16 and will continue till April 18, whereas the Class 12 Higher Secondary examination and Madrasa Fazil exams started from March 15 will continue till April 19 next.
