New Delhi, Aug 13: The Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha and some other places in the eastern region on Sunday.
Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Central Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Met office said Saturday as several parts of India continue to receive heavy rainfall, a low pressure area has now formed over the northern part of the Bay of Bengal.
This is likely to intensify into a depression during next 36 hours and move west-north-westwards across the sub-continent.
Meanwhile, active monsoon conditions are slated to continue over central parts of India during the next three days and over northwest India between August 14 and 16.
"Depression over the northeast and adjoining northwest Arabian Sea about 460 km west southwest of Naliya (Gujarat). To move nearly westwards for some more time and then move northwestwards till 13th August evening. To maintain its intensity for next 12 hours and then weaken gradually," the IMD said in a tweet.
It said that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are very likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal and with lightning at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Telangana.
IMD has also predicted squally weather (wind speed 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph) very likely over northwest and adjoining west-central Arabian Sea, north Bay of Bengal and adjoining the central Bay of Bengal, off coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal.
Fishermen have been asked to avoid venturing out into north and central Arabian Sea and along and off Gujarat and Maharashtra coasts for today and tomorrow. They have also been advised to not venture into north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal and along and off Bangladesh, West Bengal, Odisha and adjoining North Andhra Pradesh coasts during this time.
