Heightened security ahead of 77th Republic Day in North Tripura

In preparation for the 77th Republic Day, North Tripura district has implemented strict security arrangements across Dharmanagar and adjoining areas. Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai confirmed that surveillance has been intensified in hotels, vehicles, railway routes, and border zones to prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations.

As part of the preparations, a full dress rehearsal parade was conducted on Saturday at the BBI Ground in Dharmanagar. The parade began at 9:00 AM and featured nine platoons, displaying discipline and precision in their ceremonial march.

The event was attended by senior officials including SP Avinash Rai, Dharmanagar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Mina Debbarma, SDPO Jayanta Karmakar, and other senior police personnel. The rehearsal parade will be showcased again during the main Republic Day program on January 26.

Authorities emphasized that the combination of heightened security and disciplined parade arrangements reflects the district’s commitment to ensuring a safe and dignified celebration of the 77th Republic Day.
