High-level delegation praises South District Hospital services, announces ICU & CCU facilities

 South Tripura’s healthcare infrastructure received a strong endorsement on Friday as a high-level delegation of ministers and senior administrators visited the South District Hospital in Santirbazar. 

The team, comprising Santirbazar MLA Pramod Reang, Health Secretary Dr. Kiran Gitte, District Magistrate P. Sajjad, Chief Medical Officer Dr. J. M. Das, and Medical Superintendent Dr. H. Mog, undertook a comprehensive inspection of the hospital’s key departments.

The delegation toured the laboratory and diagnostic services, male and female wards, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), engaging with hospital officials to understand the current state of patient care and infrastructure. Detailed briefings were provided on service delivery, equipment availability, and the overall functioning of critical departments.

Following the inspection, the representatives lauded the quality of healthcare being provided to patients, commending the dedication of doctors, nurses, and health workers. They emphasized that the hospital’s staff have been working tirelessly to ensure advanced and reliable medical services for the district’s residents.

A major highlight of the visit was the announcement of newly inaugurated ICU and CCU services. These state-of-the-art facilities are expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver emergency and specialized cardiac care. 

Officials expressed confidence that the addition of these units will allow the people of South Tripura to access faster and more effective treatment for critical and heart-related conditions without needing to travel long distances.
