Hot & humid weather to continue till June 04, rain likely on June 05

Hot and humid weather in five districts of Tripura which include Khowai, West Tripura, Gomati, South Tripura and Sepahijala likely to continue for next two days, Scientist of IMD Tripura Centre Dr Partha Roy told media persons. 

According to Dr Roy, Tripura has been witnessing hot and humid weather conditions due to two primary reasons. “First of all the humidity in the air is rising and the second reason is hot wind is entering Tripura from Bangladesh. Due to these two reasons, the temperature is rising. As per the latest weather forecast, similar conditions will continue till June 04,” he said. 

Roy also said that the rainfall activities across Tripura may intensify from June 05. “It is expected that from June 05, rainfall will be witnessed in many locations across Tripura,” said Dr Roy. 

On being asked when the monsoon could reach North East and Tripura, he said, “Monsoon is likely to reach Kerala on June 04. We are keeping an eye on the movement of the monsoon.”
