IOCL takes up Rs. 680-cr project in Tripura's Sekerkote

Agartala, Oct 29: Special Secretary of Food department Sandeep R. Rathod on Saturday said the IndianOil Corporation Limited has taken up a project of Rs. 680 crore to set up a depot having capacity of 21000 kilolitres at Sekerkote.
The construction has already started and the project is expected to be completed by September, 2025. Once completed, it would be possible to maintain buffer stock of petrol and diesel in the state for 25-30 days, he said in a press conference, according to a government press release.
He further said, the rehabilitated Bru families have been brought under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Addressing a press conference at the civil secretariat, he said, 2,269 Bru families have been given Antodaya ration cards so far. He said, the remaining families would get the benefit after completion of the resettlement process.
He also said, under Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Prakalpa, 5123 members of 1188 tea workers’ families (APL) have been included as priority group under National Food Security Act.
