Irregularities in TET Exam, disciplinary action initiated against two teachers: TRBT

Two teachers, including a headmaster, are facing disciplinary action following allegations of irregularities during the Tripura Teacher Eligibility Test (T-TET) 2024 (Paper-II), conducted on April 27 last.

According to a press note issued by the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), reports of misconduct at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Higher Secondary School, an examination centre in Gomati district, were highlighted in media reports and widely circulated on social media.

Upon receiving the complaints, the TRBT initiated an official investigation.

The TRBT said, Inputs were collected from those responsible at the examination centre. The District Education Officer (DEO), Gomati was also instructed to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit a report. Based on the DEO's findings, as well as internal data gathered by the TRBT, a comprehensive investigation was carried out with utmost priority.

Following the conclusion of the probe, a report was submitted to the School Education department. On the basis of this report, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated under Rule 14 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, against a teacher and the headmaster of the institution.

As an immediate punitive measure, both individuals have been shifted from the school.
