Senior BJP leader and former MP from East Tripura parliamentary constituency Rebati Tripura on Monday asserted that no political leader can evade legal action once corruption was proved and Tipra Motha leaders should keep this in mind.
Speaking at a party rally, Tripura said, “It has become almost certain that BJP is set to wrest power in TTAADC in the next elections because people have already started coming out of their homes to support us. I am convinced and in the days to come Tipra Motha leaders shall also get convinced.”
Stating that BJP’s growing strength in the hilly belts was sending shockwaves to the opposition camp, Tripura said, “The growing public sentiments towards the BJP has already left them worried. This is why they are furious and adopted the no holds barred method to stop BJP. The Tipra Motha party doesn’t want us to expand organisation in the ADC because their mischiefs and misleading campaigns will get busted. Stopping BJP is synonymous with stopping development in the region.”
Countering Pradyot who claimed that Tripura has no jails made for him, Tripura said, “The jails made in Tripura are well equipped to keep anyone inside, provided that the allegations brought against the individual are proved. Once BJP comes to power, an audit of the TTAADC administration will be conducted. And, if corruption is proved as per the law, legal action will be initiated. Jail will be an inevitable option for those who have been involved in corruption.”
Tripura was speaking at a joining programme held at Demdum Kachucherra. BJP state General Secretary Bipin Debbarma also spoke at the event. In his Kokborok speech, Debbarma also lashed out at the Tipra Motha and urged voters to support BJP overwhelmingly in the ensuing elections.
