Jailbreak: Four fugitives still at large

Four of the six undertrial prisoners who escaped from Dharmanagar Sub-Jail on October 1 are still at large.

Despite a massive manhunt launched by police, the operation has so far failed to trace the fugitives. The absconding prisoners have been identified as Rosan Ali, Nazim Uddin, Rahim Ali, and Sunil Debbarma.

Of the six escapees, Abdul Pata was arrested on the same night of the incident, while Narayan Chandra Datta was nabbed the following day.

According to officials, the jailbreak occurred in the morning when inmates were being escorted for breakfast and routine activities. Suddenly, a group of prisoners armed with sharp weapons attacked a guard and fled the premises. The injured jail staff has been admitted to North Tripura District Hospital for treatment.
