Agartala, Nov 22: In an important step, Dr. Manik Saha-led Tripura cabinet decided to give preference to the candidates having Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) in the recruitment for around 5,000 posts through Joint Recruitment Board, Tripura (JRBT).
The decision has been welcomed by the state's candidates since it would largely benefit them in the recruitment process.
At the time of the examination held in August last year, PRTC was not made mandatory for the candidates. As a result, a good number of aspirations from outside Tripura took part in the examination.
There were also allegations among the state's youths that an attempt was being made for providing jobs to outside candidates with backdoor support.
But, the present Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha felt the issue and took this important decision so that the state's youths get preference in the recruitment drive.
Meanwhile, the recruitment process is being delayed following several reasons.
After almost one and half year, the state cabinet recently discussed the issue. It has been decided that the results of the written examinations for Group-C and Group-D posts would be announced very soon.
