Kalyanpur set for major boost in infrastructure, agriculture

A new chapter in Kalyanpur’s development journey is set to begin, with a series of major projects announced to improve infrastructure, agriculture, and employment opportunities in the region.

Kalyanpur MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury made the announcement on Saturday after visiting several project sites along with the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department.

According to the MLA, multiple important projects will soon be inaugurated and launched on the same day by the concerned state minister. Among the most significant initiatives is the construction of a new agri-market project.

The modern market shed will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 3.11 crore. He said the government-approved project has already completed the tendering process.

In another major step aimed at strengthening agricultural services, a newly constructed Agricultural Supervisor (SA) office will also be inaugurated shortly. The move has been welcomed by local farmers, many of whom had long demanded better access to agricultural support services.

To promote self-employment among unemployed youth, 18 stalls have been constructed in the newly built market complex. Local residents believe the initiative will create new business and employment opportunities for young people in the area.

Meanwhile, frequent power cuts remain a long-standing issue in Kalyanpur. Residents often complain about erratic electricity supply disrupting daily life.

Addressing the concern, the MLA also announced the foundation stone laying for a new electric sub-station. However, locals are now waiting to see when the project will be implemented on the ground.

MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Agriculture minister Ratan Lal Nath for giving special attention to the development of Kalyanpur.
