Khuti Puja marks Ramnagar Sanghati Club's Durga Puja preparations; Rs 35 L budget announced

The countdown to Durga Puja began at Ramnagar Sanghati Club on Sunday morning with the traditional Khuti Puja, held amid festive enthusiasm. The ceremony, performed with full religious rituals, formally launched preparations for this year’s celebrations, which promise to be one of the most elaborate in the city.

The event was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and local MLA Dipak Majumdar, along with club officials and members. Following the rituals, the organisers unveiled their plans for the upcoming festival, announcing a budget of Rs 35 lakh.

A major attraction this year will be the Durga Puja mandap, designed in the likeness of Gujarat’s Ramnarayan Temple. The club aims to blend tradition with architectural grandeur, offering visitors a unique experience that highlights cultural heritage and aesthetic beauty.

Mayor Majumdar discussed preparations with the organisers, stressing the importance of smooth and well-coordinated arrangements. Club members have already begun work to ensure the puja is conducted seamlessly.

With the Khuti Puja complete, the Sanghati Club’s Durga Puja has officially entered its preparation phase. Organisers expressed confidence that the combination of a high budget and innovative temple-themed mandap will make this year’s celebration a special attraction for devotees and visitors alike.
