Four Left workers, arrested in connection with a protest march held during the Left Labour Rally on November 10, were released on bail on Monday and accorded a warm reception by party colleagues.
Â
The workers had been taken into custody following a demonstration that moved across the city’s flyover, drawing police intervention and subsequent arrests. After nearly four weeks in detention, they walked free from the Bishalgarh Central Jail, where a large gathering of party leaders, activists, and supporters awaited their arrival.
Â
As the four emerged from the prison gates, they were greeted with garlands of flowers and slogans of solidarity. Senior leaders of the party, along with members of affiliated organizations, hailed their release as a victory for democratic rights and workers’ struggles.
Â
Leaders present at the event reiterated their commitment to defending workers’ rights and carry forward their movement.Â
