Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday heavily came down on the previous Left Front government on various issues including Janajati development.
He said, the Left Front in its 35 years of rule didn’t take any effective steps for the development of Janajati people; they used the Janajati people only for the purpose of vote bank.
Dr. Saha was speaking in a party programme organized by Karbook mandal where 824 voters from 345 families joined the saffron camp.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister highlighted the steps taken by the BJP-IPFT government for the overall development of the Janajati people.
He said, twelve blocks have been declared as Aspirational Blocks and 32 Van Dhan clusters have been formed for purchasing forest products directly from the Janajati people with MSP.
Besides, the state government initiated a plan to construct three college hostels for ST students, another plan has been taken to set up one 100-bedded boy’s hostel at Shillong and initiatives have been taken to transform ADC into Tripura Territorial Council.
He also said, a plan is in the pipeline to increase the number of seats in ADC to 50. Dr. Saha also spoke on the Rs. 1300-crore project announced by the government for socio-economic development of the Janajati people.
No previous government worked in the way the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the development of the Janajati people, he said, adding that the Janajati people also realized that only the BJP can ensure their socio-economic growth.
Janajati Welfare minister Ram Pada Jamatia, BJP Gomati district president Abhishek Debroy and other local leaders were present in the joining programme.
