Tripura Pradesh BJP president Abhishek Debroy on Monday said the party's women's wing must strengthen its presence at the grassroots and play a key role in its return to power in the 2028 Assembly elections.

Debroy was speaking at an organisational interaction programme for newly appointed office-bearers of the Tripura Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha.

“Bharatiya Janata Party always gives importance to women party workers. Wherever we go for any event, 80 to 90 per cent of the crowd consists of our mothers and sisters,” he said.

Debroy said the state BJP had entrusted the responsibility of the Mahila Morcha to Moushumi Das, who had appointed her team as well as district-level leadership.

“In the days to come, under the leadership of Moushumi Das, a strong team of women leaders will lead from the front,” he said.

He said the BJP gave importance to its workers and activists and expressed confidence that a robust organisation would be established through the newly appointed leadership.

The state BJP president called for strengthening the women's organisation at booth level across the state.

“I have a request to the women leaders that the women frontal wing of the party must establish such a strong presence that it acts as the driving force behind BJP's return to power in 2028,” Debroy said.

Moushumi Das, the newly appointed president of the Tripura Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha, along with the vice-president and other office-bearers, attended the programme.

During the event, Debroy interacted with the newly appointed office-bearers and discussed measures to strengthen the organisation and make its activities more active at the grassroots level.

The programme focused on introducing the newly appointed office-bearers and discussing their responsibilities and organisational activities in the days ahead. Bharatiya Janata Party always gives importance to the women party workers and wherever we go for any event 80 to 90 percent of the crowd gathers constitute our mothers and sisters.

Tripura Pradesh BJP has given the responsibility of Pradesh Mahila Morcha to Moushumi Das. She had appointed her team. She had also appointed the district leadership. In the days to come, under the leadership of Moushumi Das, a strong team of women leadership will lead from the front. 

The BJP always gives importance to its workers and activists. I believe a robust organisation will be established. In all booths women organisation will be strengthened. I have a request to the women leaders that the women frontal wing of the party must establish such a strong presence that it acts as the purveyor of BJP return to power in 2028.
