Major Administrative reshuffle in Tripura: IAS and TCS Officers assigned new roles

The Government of Tripura has announced a significant reshuffle in the state administration, with multiple IAS and TCS officers receiving new postings and responsibilities. The notification, issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, takes immediate effect.

Among the key changes, Kuntal Das, IAS, Special Secretary of OBC Welfare and Industries & Commerce (Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture), has been relieved of her additional charges as Director, OBC Welfare, and Managing Director of the Tripura OBC Welfare Co-operative Development Corporation.

Tamal Majumdar, IAS, Special Secretary in the Home (Fire & Emergency Services) Department, has been relieved of his additional charge as Director of Urban Development, though he continues as Director of Fire & Emergency Services and Special Secretary, Urban Development.

Nirmal Kumar, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Khowai, has been transferred to Agartala as Director of Urban Development. He will also hold the charges of Director, OBC Welfare, and Managing Director of the OBC Welfare Co-operative Development Corporation. His position in Khowai will now be filled by Rimita Saha, IAS, who has completed Phase-II training at LBSNAA, Mussoorie, and will also serve as CEO of Khowai Municipal Council.

In another change, Ashis Biswas, TCS Gr-I, SDM of Kanchanpur, has been posted as Joint Director, Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture in Agartala. His role in Kanchanpur will be taken over by Thite Shubham Bhagvan, IAS, after completing Phase-II training at LBSNAA.

Tarun Kanti Sarkar, TCS Gr-I, SDM of Santirbazar and CEO of Santirbazar Municipal Council, has been transferred to Ambassa as Senior Deputy Collector in the office of the District Magistrate & Collector, Dhalai. His position will now be filled by Deepika Gautam, IAS, who has also completed Phase-II training at LBSNAA and will serve as SDM and CEO of Santirbazar Municipal Council.

N.S. Chakma, TCS Gr-I, SDM of Kumarghat, has been transferred to Agartala as Joint Director, GA (Printing & Stationery) Department. His role in Kumarghat will be taken over by Shubham Meena, IAS, who has completed Phase-II training at LBSNAA and will also serve as CEO of Kumarghat Municipal Council.

The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary H. Debbarma, underscores the government’s effort to strengthen administrative efficiency by placing newly trained IAS officers in key sub-divisional roles while reassigning experienced officers to higher responsibilities in the state capital.
