As many as 710 voters joined the Bharatiya Janata Party during an election rally held at Motor Stand in Gandacherra, in the presence of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
Addressing the public meeting in support of BJP candidate Bhumikananda Reang from Ganganagar- Gandatwisa constituency and candidate Samir Ranjan Tripura from Raimavalley constituency, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi both the country and Tripura are moving forward on the path of development.
He stated that to ensure similar development in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in the coming days, a BJP-led government is necessary.
Welcoming the newly joined members into the party, the Chief Minister said the joining reflected the strong public support for the BJP. A large number of people from the tribal community attended the rally.
Dr. Saha alleged that the ADC is currently being run by a “corrupt administration” and said people do not want false promises or unrest but seek development. He asserted that BJP is committed to delivering development to every section of society.
He further claimed that people are ready to form a “triple engine government” by ensuring BJP’s victory in all 28 seats in the upcoming ADC elections. He said this has led to growing frustration among the Tipra Motha as they are losing public support.
Without naming any party directly, the Chief Minister accused Tipra Motha of indulging in violence, attacks, and disruptive politics in the style of the CPM which he said would not be accepted by the people.
During his speech, the Chief Minister also highlighted various initiatives undertaken for the welfare and development of the tribal communities.
Former MP Rebati Tripura, Janajati Morcha state president Parimal Debbarma, BJP Dhalai district president Patiram Tripura and several other local leaders were present.
