Man arrested with 500 yaba tablets in Agartala

Police personnel from East Agartala Police Station arrested a man with 500 Yaba tablets during a vehicle checking operation in Dhaleshwar on Friday night. The accused has been identified as Shankhadip Roy, a resident of Dhaleshwar Road No. 8.

According to East Police Station Officer-in-Charge Subrata Debnath, the tablets were recovered from the suspect’s jacket around 8:30 PM during routine checking in the area. Following the arrest, police conducted a search at his residence but found no additional contraband.

Debnath further stated that a case has been registered against Roy under the NDPS Act. On Saturday, police sought a five-day remand for the accused and produced him before the court.
