Man commits suicide at in-law's house

A 45-year-old man committed suicide at the residence of his in-laws on Friday night at Malaynagar area under Srinagar police station. The deceased had been identified as Manabendra Chakraborty (45).
According to police, Chakraborty quarreled with his wife before going to bed on Friday night. He was under the influence of alcohol. “We have been informed that the deceased indulged in a heated altercation with his wife and later hanged himself. It has been learnt that he was under the influence of alcohol. We have launched an investigation into the matter,” said police.
According to the wife of the deceased, he was a habitual drunker and often misbehaved with her. “We had a quarrel over a loan. I didn't notice any suspicious behavior. He was quite normal but in the morning, we saw he killed himself,” Anjana Sarkar, the wife of the deceased person said.
