Agartala, Jan 13: Day after the BJP-led coalition government sought recommendation by forming an advisory committee to resolve the issues of 10, 323 sacked teachers, the leader of opposition Manik Sarkar on Friday rubbished the decision of government and said, “This advisory committee seeking report before 31st March is nothing but to yet again lure the 10,323 deprived teachers in wake of the ensuing assembly election.
“Worried by the movements from different corners of, the BJP government opted to form an advisory committee to look into the issues of 10,323 teachers, who are already deprived by this government during the last five years. But that way the government cannot escape from their non-performance,” Sarkar said in his statement on 10,323 teachers.
He termed the government as ‘minus zero performing government’ and said, “The BJP government had failed to implement their promise made to the 10323 teachers before the 2018 assembly election. Since then, the government has used all forces to harass those teachers whenever they tried to seek a permanent solution from the government.”
“When the Supreme Court upheld the verdict of the High Court on the issue of 10323 teachers, we collected all information to find that the RSS-bench in the supreme court had upheld the HCV’s verdict,” Sarkar said.
He said, “Since that day after the Supreme Court’s verdict, we, the then Left front government, decided to create 13000 new posts to re-settle the 10323 teachers and other eligible candidates. And on the other hand, the BJP government approached the Supreme Court and appealed to cancel those posts.”
“Rather than meeting the promises made to those 10,323 teachers which they assured of solving their problem on humanitarian ground on their vision document, they cancelled the posts created by the then Left front government,” Sarkar said.
He said, “At least 148 teachers of those 10,323 teachers died and while collecting the report what we found is that those teachers belonged to a very poor family.”
He however castigated the BJP-led coalition government and said, “If anyone thinks that this government will exist and the problems of the 10323 teachers will be solved, they must be wrong. This is only the Left front government which can bring a solution to the problems of the 10,323 teachers.”
