Mayor Dipak Majumder performs Land Puja for Renovation of Radha Madhav Temple Pond

In a significant step towards urban development and cultural preservation, a land puja ceremony was performed on Monday for the renovation of the pond adjacent to the Radha Madhav Temple in Agartala.

Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar, West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, Corporator Santana Saha, and other dignitaries remained present at the program.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Majumdar highlighted the ongoing efforts to rejuvenate Agartala city and the state of Tripura since the formation of the BJP government in 2018.

He emphasized that numerous water bodies across various wards of Agartala had been neglected for years, prompting initiatives to restore and make them functional. The renovation of the Radha Madhav Temple Pond is a part of this broader mission.

“An allocation of approximately Rs 86 lakh has been made for the renovation project, which aims to transform the pond into a usable and beneficial resource for the local community”, said the Mayor.

Majumdar expressed optimism that the restored pond would soon serve the needs of the residents, enhancing both the utility and aesthetic appeal of the area.
