Mega program on VB-G RAM G Act to be held in Agartala

A major programme under the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act is set to take place in Agartala during the second week of this month, marking a significant push towards rural employment and livelihood generation.

In preparation for the event, CEO of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, convened a meeting with district and block officials to finalize arrangements and ensure coordinated implementation.

At the programme, projects worth Rs 101.67 crore under TRLM will be formally launched, involving large-scale disbursal of funds to beneficiaries. Key highlights include: Loan distribution to support self-employment and livelihood activities; Car key handover under the AGEY Scheme, aimed at enhancing rural transport and connectivity; Community Fund disbursement of Rs 30 crore to strengthen grassroots institutions and collective initiatives.

In addition to TRLM projects, several initiatives of the Rural Development Department, Panchayats, and other allied agencies will also be inaugurated, reflecting a multi-sectoral approach to rural transformation.

Officials said the programme is expected to draw wide participation from beneficiaries, community representatives, and local institutions, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and livelihood security.

The upcoming event is being seen as a milestone in Tripura’s rural development journey, combining financial empowerment with infrastructure and institutional support to accelerate progress under the vision of Viksit Bharat.
