Kailashahar is set to gain a major youth facility as Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy on Saturday inspected the construction of a 200‑bed youth hostel in Ward No. 14 of the municipal council.Â
Â
The minister, after reviewing progress on site, directed officials to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe so that the hostel can be inaugurated during the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
Â
Roy emphasized that the project is being fast‑tracked to ensure young participants in sports, cultural activities and youth development programmes have access to proper accommodation.Â
Â
He noted that the hostel will serve as a hub for nurturing talent and supporting community initiatives, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening youth infrastructure across Tripura.
Â
Local officials accompanying the minister assured that construction is advancing steadily and pledged to meet the deadline. Once operational, the hostel is expected to ease accommodation challenges for hundreds of young men and women attending events in Kailashahar, while also boosting the town’s capacity to host larger state‑level programmes.
