More than 2k delegates to attend Panchayat Parishad convention in June: Birajit

Veteran Congress leader and Congress Legislature Party chief in Tripura Assembly Birajit Sinha on Saturday said that a state level convention would be organised in the month of June where more than two thousand delegates from different Gao Sabhas were expected to remain present. 

“The convention will be organised under the initiative of All India Panachayat Parishad,” said Sinha. 

According to Sinha, former Union Minister Subhod Kant Sahay would attend the event as the chief guest alongside Ashoke Chauhan. “We have invited both the leaders to attend the convention as guests,” said Sinha. 

Sinha was speaking to the media persons after chairing a meeting of the AIPP in Tripura. “We have decided to take the Panchayati Raj movement to a higher level. The concept of Panchayat Raj and Gram Swaraj had been propounded by Mahatma Gandhi but it had been made a reality by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi,” he added.
