
Tripura’s long-standing demand for improved railway infrastructure received a boost as Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has positively acknowledged and agreed in principle to the proposal for the development of Mungiakami Railway Station.

State Minister for Tribal Welfare Bikash Debbarma expressed his gratitude for the assurance, describing it as a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and passenger services in Tripura.

Informing the public through a social media post from the natonal captal after meeting the Union Minister for Railways, Debbarma wrote: “His kind assurance and constructive response towards this initiative reflect the Government’s commitment to improving connectivity, enhancing passenger services and accelerating development across the North-Eastern region, especially in Tripura.”

He added that this consideration from the Ministry of Railways has strengthened hopes that Mungiakami Railway Station will soon move towards modernization, expanded facilities, and greater regional linkage.

The development of Mungiakami Railway Station is expected to: Improve accessibility for residents of the 29-Krishnapur Assembly Constituency; Strengthen Tripura’s integration with the broader North-Eastern railway network; Provide modern amenities and better passenger services; Accelerate socio-economic growth in the region.

Debbarma reiterated his thanks to the Union Minister for giving due importance to the aspirations of the people of Tripura. “Together, we move forward towards improved connectivity, stronger infrastructure and a brighter developmental future for our people,” he said.
