Agartala, Mar 20: Faculty Development Centre of Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya campus, Agartala at Lembucherra, Tripura, inaugurated a 7-day long National Workshop on 'Manuscript and Palaeography' on Monday. The workshop will continue up to March 26.
This National Workshop is being conducted in hybrid mode (both in physical and online mode).
In the inaugural session Dr. Anirban Das, Director of the National Manuscript Mission, New Delhi, joined the session virtually as Special Guest.
In his speech, Dr Das highlighted the historical importance of manuscripts and urged for the active involvement of all scholars in the decoding process of rare manuscripts.
Prof. Satyadeo Poddar, Vice-Chancellor of MBB University, chaired the session as Chief Guest. In his speech, Poddar recalled the active contribution of Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee in constituting the institution - National Mission for Manuscripts and urged for editing work of some non-decoded manuscripts. He urged all to 'Save manuscripts, save nation'.
Prof. Awadesh Kumar Chaubey, HoD, Darshan, graced the session as Guest of Honour.
The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Sukanta Kumar Senapati, Director of the Campus.
In this National workshop, a total number of 1087 participants will take part from various states of India and from more than 15 countries like Iran, Iraq, USA, Australia etc.
Renowned Resource persons will address the sessions throughout these 07 days.
This enriching workshop is being coordinated by Dr. Uttam Singh, Assistant Professor (Bouddha Darshan). A vote of thanks in the inaugural session was delivered by Dr. Brahmanand Mishra, Assistant Professor (Jyotish).
