Agartala, Apr 09: Tripura and other Northeast States are poised for state-of-art security education which will create a large number of employment opportunities for the youths of the region. Eight ‘Centre of Excellence' – one in each of the eight NE States – will be set up and at least one Aviation Academy will come up in the region, said Kunwar Vikram Singh, the chairman of the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) in Agartala on Sunday.
He informed the media that a daylong ‘North East Security Education and Global Employability Conclave’ will be held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan on Monday which will be addressed by Union Minister of Culture, Tourism and DoNER G Kishan Reddy. Among others Union MoS for MSME Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Union MoS for Ministry of External Affairs and Education, Union MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will represent in the conclave.
Kunwar Vikram Singh said the first-of-its-kind conclave will bring together security organizations and professionals at one common platform and it will focus on key topics such as establishing state-of-art training institutes, promoting security courses of international standards, generating employment and women empowerment and contributing to growth and prosperity of the entire NER”.
As a curtain raiser for Monday’s Conclave, Singh said, “There is a huge demand for security guards and officers at the national level as well as international level. CAPSI in collaboration with different government organizations is trying to throw the emerging employment opportunity to the youths of Tripura and other NE States in this sector”.
Continuing to talk about the prevailing scenario in the security training sector, he said, “One crore youth are engaged in the private defence sector and the annual growth rate is 22 per cent. With the serious manpower crisis in this sector, several European countries and the USA are looking to hire youths from India”.
To cater for the demands, Rashtriya Raksa University at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh is open for candidates. Besides, the Centre of Excellence will be opened in each of the NE States to train security guards and officers.
CAPSI is also looking forward to setting up an Aviation Academy in the region.
“We will hold talks with the Chief Minister of Tripura regarding setting up the Academy here. This will the NE youths to become pilots, air hostesses, mechanics and aviation security personnel”, he said and informed the media that there are only eight pilots from the entire North East region.
