Neshamukt Tripura campaign: 118 cases registered, 172 persons arrested in past two months

Agartala, July 29: In the fight against drugs menace, Tripura Police arrested 172 persons in connection with 118 cases registered over the past three two months.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday shared a chart on Police’s achievements in Neshamukt Tripura campaign-- from May 14 to July 24 this year on his official Facebook handle.
According to the Chief Minister, total 172 persons were arrested and 118 cases were registered under the NDPS Act during this period. Besides, Tripura Police seized 25,775 kg ganja, 19,584 bottles of contraband syrup, 22,267 tablets and 917.23 grams heroin.
Sharing more details, the Chief Minister mentioned that 42 persons were arrested in connection with 54 cases from May 14 to 31, more 41 persons were arrested and 64 cases were registered from June 1 to 30 and another 35 persons were arrested and 54 cases were registered from July 1 to 24.
Meanwhile, soon after formation of the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura, the Neshamukt Tripura campaign was launched with an aim to transform Tripura into a drugs-free state.
