
 Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday said the Next-Gen GST Reforms will largely benefit the common people.

Addressing a workshop on “Benefits from Next Generation GST” at Muktadhara auditorium in Agartala, he said, so many types of tax previously confused the people but the reforms under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership simplified the process.

Dr. Saha also said, after the introduction of GST, the country witnessed economic growth.

Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the target to build Viksit Bharat by 2047 and Tripura already prepared the roadmap in this direction, the Chief Minister said.

In case of Next-Gen GST reforms, the slabs have been reduced from 5 to 2, simplifying the process and benefiting the common people, he noted.

The Next-Gen GST reforms is a pro-people decision with proper guidelines, he added.

Finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy was also present in the workshop organized by the Taxes Organisation, Finance Department.

"It was an insightful session that enhanced awareness and collaboration towards building a more efficient and transparent GST framework", the Finance minister mentioned in a social media post.

Finance secretary Apurba Roy and other officials were present in the workshop.
