NMC approves additional 50 MBBS seats for TMC

In a significant move for medical education aspirants, The National Medical Commission (NMC) has sanctioned an additional 50 MBBS seats for Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Agartala.

While sharing the update on social media on Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha mentioned that the total MBBS intake at TMC has now increased from 100 to 150, raising the overall MBBS seats in Tripura to 450.

According to Dr. Saha, in the last three years, the state has achieved a record addition of 225 MBBS seats- a remarkable milestone in continuous efforts to strengthen medical education and healthcare infrastructure.

The Chief Minister extended sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda for their unwavering support and guidance in advancing Tripura’s medical education sector.
