Nothing can stop people from casting votes: Puroshattam Roy Barman

Agartala Jan 30: Claiming that the people of Tripura want to get rid of a ‘Jungle-Raaj’ that flourished in the state since the BJP government came to power in the year 2018, Left-Congress backed independent candidate Puroshattam Roy Barman filed his nomination on Monday for contesting from 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency.
Speaking to the reporters, Puroshattam Roy Barman who is an Advocate and Human Rights activists said, “People of Tripura are determined this time and they will cast votes ignoring all sorts of fear, and threats”.
He added, “Before thinking of contesting elections, I never thought of geeting such huge response from people”.
The independent candidate further said that even a section of BJP karyakartas are also supporting him.
On being asked about the issues he would like to take to people, Roy Barman said, “People want peace and so by ousting the BJP government from power democracy, freedom of speech, re-establishment of rule of law can be done for the welfare of people so that the Constitution works in Tripura”.
Puroshattam Roy Barman was backed by both CPI-M and Congress leaders and supporters as well as large number of advocates from the state as he filed his nominations to the Returning officer.
The Independent Candidate Puroshattam Roy Barman will be contesting against BJP candidate Surajit Dutta for the 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency seat.
