Agartala Feb 04: Tripura Pradesh Congress OBC Department held a State Executive Extended Meeting on Saturday at the Congress Bhavan, Agartala in view of the ensuing polls scheduled to be held on February 16.
AICC OBC Department Chairman Captain Uday Singh Yadav, National Coordinator In-Charge Tripura Subrata Borah among others presided over the meeting of party activists and supporters.
Discussions were held on organizational matters of the Pradesh Congress’ OBC Department and strategies were also chalked out for ensuring victory in assembly elections.
Addressing the reporters, AICC OBC Department Chairman Captain Uday Singh Yadav said, “The need of the hour is to oust the BJP from power. and the OBC community people among others must ensure that the vote bank will favour the win of Left-Congress alliance in Tripura assembly polls”.
Castigating the Union Budget, Yadav said, “The Budget presented by BJP Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is to favaour their friends like Adani-Ambani and has nothing for the poor”.
“Funds have been majorly decreased in Education, Agriculture and Health Sectors. At least Rs 70,000 Crore has been deducted from MGN REGA fund that will adversely affect the poor labour class”, he said.
Talking about Tripura, Yadav said, “The BJP has given nothing except ‘Jumla’ promises to the people. Zero development, corruption and change of chief minister in first term itself proves the failure of BJP in Tripura”.
He urged the voters of all communities to vote for Left-Congress candidates to oust the BJP from power.
Meanwhile, National Coordinator, In-charge Tripura Subrata Borah said, “A wind of change is blowing in Tripura”.
“No jobs for youths, no employment or livelihood opportunities for poor and anti-people policies of BJP government has added to the woes of Tripura netizens. And now to ensure a better livelihood, peace and democratic government people are ready to oust BJP from power”, said Borah.
The leadership also discussed several works that will be done for the people of Tripura if Left-Congress government is established to power.
This includes, formation of community wise development councils for people of all sections, jobs, employment opportunities, improvement of health and education sector among others.
