The opposition is attempting to tarnish the image of the state government through false propaganda, alleged Rana Ghosh, General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), during a press conference held at the state BJP headquarters on Saturday. The briefing was also attended by BJYM spokesperson Amlan Mukherjee.
Rana Ghosh strongly criticised former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for referring to a woman, who allegedly used abusive language against the Prime Minister, as a “respectable lady.” He said the statement was “unfortunate and unexpected” from a senior leader of Sarkar’s stature and added that the BJYM strongly condemned it.
He further accused opposition parties of spreading misleading and baseless information about various initiatives of the government to create confusion among the public and harm the state’s image. “Their only aim is to misguide people. Our responsibility as youth representatives is to ensure that correct information reaches the masses and citizens are protected from such misinformation,” Ghosh said.
Speaking to reporters, Amlan Mukherjee alleged that the opposition often downplays or misrepresents the state’s developmental projects for political gain. “Our focus is to inform the public with facts and highlight the youth’s role in driving Tripura’s overall development,” he added.
