Gandachhera, Oct 22:  Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday received a major boost as 1504 voters of 711 families joined the saffron camp in Gandacherra Tripura’s Dhala district.

Tripura BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee in presence of MP Rebati Tripura, MLA and BJP Dhalai district president Parimal Debbarma welcomed the newcomers with party flags in a rally at Gandacherra market.

Addressing the gathering, the BJP state president and other leaders expressed happiness in the rally over the joining of ‘large’ number of voters from IPFT and Tipra Motha to BJP.

He referred to the resignation of IPFT MLA Dhananjoy Tripura who was elected from the Raima Valley constituency and said the exit of one MLA from the ruling coalition would not be a big problem as about 1500 people joined the BJP party in Raima Valley – their joining dealt a big blow to the opposition of BJP.

Meanwhile, the BJP state president chaired organizational meetings with the leaders of 42- Amarpur and Raima Valley mandals.
