Agartala May 25: IGM Hospital’s Patient Welfare Association meeting was held after quite long time on Thursday at the hospital premises.
Chairman of the committee Dr Dilip Kumar Das presided over the meeting in presence of other members.
Achievements of the Patient Welfare Association and scope of improvement along with new projects on board were the topics of discussion.
Speaking about the day’s meeting Dr Dilip Das said, “The meeting discussed what the IGM Hospital has achieved so far and what more can be done for the welfare of the patients who come to the hospital from various parts of the state”.
Highlighting the major achievements, Dr Das said, “An average of 1400 patients visit the OPD of the hospital every day and around 200 patients are admitted in different wards. Step Down Ward with 4 no. of beds has been introduced in the medicine department”.
“The Blood Bank has been shifted to Old Medical Superintendent Office and its services have been upgraded vastly. This includes packed RBC, fresh frozen plasma, platelet concentrated, Cryoprecipitation (Factors VIII and IX), gel technology, antibody screening and neonatal screening among others”, he said.
Apart from that, ICUs like MICU, NICU and PICU have central air conditioner coverage with diesel generator backup and a solar power backup for lights and fans.
Echocardiography facility has been made available for 2 days in a week.
Private security guards have been deployed in the hospital and also cleanliness staff have been recruited through agencies in order to keep the hospital clean and shiny.
G+2) New Orthopedic OPD with dressing room on ground floor of building has been commissioned.
A total of 10 (ten) water-coolers and purifiers and one water-ATM (installed by ONGC) have been commissioned to provide drinking water to all patients and relatives of patients attending the hospital.
IGM Hospital has 4 (four) diesel generators for uninterrupted power supply.
Also, New Oxygen Plant (PSA) has been setup with 1050 LPM capacity. There are currently 10 (ten) government ambulances in operation.
10 (Ten) bedded Emergency Ward (24 x 7) has been set up.
2 (two) year post MBBS diploma course in four disciplines Obst & Gynae, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics & Family Medicine has been introduced under NBEMS and 20 students have been admitted.
An orthopedic spine surgeon provides routine orthopedic services in the OPD.
OPG (ORTHOPANTOMAGRAM) has also been introduced in the dental department.
Besides, all emergency blocks are under 73 CCTV camera surveillance.
The Chairperson of IGM Hospital’s Patient Welfare Association Dr Dilip Das said that all steps will be taken to ensure that the hospital can provide effective and necessary facilities to the large number of patients who come here for treatment.
